Some keepsakes

Just a couple of the things that my mom has passed on to me this past month. They are getting ready to move into an RV and travel the country visiting, so have had to rid themselves of LOTS of things. I was especially happy to receive these two items.

This is a very old Singer sewing machine that was my grandmothers.
This shadow box contains pieces that I remember looking at and playing with as a little girl. I need to see if mom can remember the story behind some of them and write it down to remember. The kids and I enjoyed unwrapping and organizing these on the shelves today.

Our favorite roast recipe

We love having roast, especially on Sunday after church. Here is our favorite recipe, and a great way to use the 8 cent Kraft dressings we've been getting from Wal-Mart. :-) Super easy and sooooo GOOD!

Sunday Crockpot Roast
Chuck roast ~4lbs
Rinse and put in bottom of large crockpot, salt as desired.

1/2 med size red onion
Slice into rings on top of roast.

16 oz bottle of Kraft sun-dried tomato dressing
Pour half of bottle over roast.

8-16 oz whole mushrooms (depends how much you like mushrooms)
Wash and put half on top of roast.

8 med sized potatoes
Wash and slice into bite-size chunks, layer half on top of mushrooms.

16 oz bag baby carrots
Layer half of bag on top of potatoes.

Add another layer of mushrooms, potatoes and then carrots.
Pour rest of bottle of Kraft dressing on top.

Turn on low and cook overnight. It is ready in about 12 hours, we turn it to warm whe we get up Sunday mornings and then enjoy it for lunch when we get home from church.
