We had a large dead tree at the back of our yard. Tom was very brave and cut it down. He tied it to other trees to insure that it fell the direction he wanted it to go (NOT on our house, the garden fence or the chicken house!) and it worked! It made a huge thundering sound when it hit the ground. I was up on the porch and made sure the kids were with me and had shoes on and I told them that if I yelled "run" they were supposed to go up the driveway as fast as they could. He did great though, and this tree made lots of great firewood to keep us warm! :-)
